A very fine , probably Italian and probably Venetian carved giltwood sofa , second half 19th century . Lavishly and profusely carved with cabbage roses , foliate scrolls, rocaille shells and 'c' scrolls resting on rococo legs ...... The relief carving up to 1 inches thick ...sturdy frame with clean covering and only slight wear (primarily to arms) . Good gilt patina with some red bole bleeding thru .............
